November in 1st and 2nd Class

We have a new PE teacher! Her name is Emer and we play loads of fun games in PE with her.

Working on our experiments for the Science Fair!

1st and 2nd class are so generous, look at all the shoe boxes full of surprises for those less fortunate than us. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

We did our first real project work this week for homework. We had to do projects on sharks. Well done to all the boys and girls who presented their projects:

Did you hear the news?! We have two new friends in our room- George and Cat- our new goldfish! A fitting way to end our Under the Sea theme!

We had our final Science Club today, we learned about materials and change and static electricity.

The Children of Lir and Odd and Even Numbers!

Hello everyone!
We had a very happy Monday in 1st and 2nd class. We played lots of fun maths games whilst learning about odd and even numbers:

We read the legend of the Children of Lir in history. 2nd class are working on dividing the story into the beginning, middle and end through illustrating posters depicting the scenes. Some of first class are working on writing and illustrating their own version of the story, while some of first class are modelling the scenes in the story using play dough.

We made these submarine portholes in art last week:

And we learned about the life cycle of the turtle in science!

November Week Two

Hello everyone!
Here are some photos of another great week in KNS!
We are running the shoe box appeal this year for homelessness in Dublin, so in 1st and 2nd we spoke about boys and girls who are not as fortunate as we are, and how we can help. We then worked on designing outfits for these people holding hands to show we are all connected. We came up with loads of great ideas for helping others. We are a very philanthropic bunch!

We were skip counting in maths:

We are learning so many fascinating facts about ocean life:

We love Golden Time on a Friday!
